Committees and Working Groups

ISA is grateful to our Committee and Working Group members who donate their time and expertise to support our work.

ISA Committees are groups of appointed members that perform specific functions or tasks within the organisation. They are established to oversee and manage specific areas of operations, such as finance, governance, or development.

Members are selected based on their expertise and experience relevant to the committee’s focus area. They often include board members, staff, and sometimes external experts.

ISA Committees are usually permanent or long-term, with members serving fixed terms. They can also be formed on an ad hoc basis to address specific issues or needs that arise that allows the organization to adapt to new challenges by creating specialised committees as needed.

ISA Working Groups are temporary teams established to address specific tasks or issues. These focus on particular objectives, such as developing guidelines.

Members are appointed based on their interest, skills, knowledge, and experience relevant to the group’s goals. Working Groups are typically temporary and disband once their objectives are achieved.
